The Legislative Assembly of Alberta is seeking a part-time Venue Services Assistant to join the Venue Services team at the Queen Elizabeth II Building. You will support event bookings and committee meetings while ensuring clients and guests receive outstanding service.
This role offers 12–16 hours per week with flexibility for early mornings, evenings and weekends. Prior hospitality or guest-service experience and AV familiarity are a plus. Physical walking is involved.
The Legislative Assembly Office (LAO) is seeking one individual to join our team as a Venue Services Assistant.
The Venue Services branch supports the usage of LAO venue spaces on the first and second floors of the Queen Elizabeth II Building. Reporting to the Venue Services Supervisor, the Venue Services Assistant plays a key role in supporting event bookings and committee meetings, ensuring clients and guests receive exceptional service and support.
This is a part-time position that requires flexibility. Depending on event schedules, you may be asked to work early mornings, evenings and weekends. The expected hours for this position are between 12 and 16 hours per week but can vary depending on bookings and peak times. A minimum number of hours cannot be guaranteed.
You are an individual who possesses proven client service, time management, organizational, decision‑making and problem‑solving skills. You are able to adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic, nonpartisan workplace.
You have exceptional communication skills that enable you to assist clients and respond to inquiries in a knowledgeable way, and your outstanding interpersonal skills allow you to interact effectively with team members and clients.
You are also comfortable doing a considerable amount of walking and other physical activities when required.
Your background will include experience providing exceptional customer service in a hospitality or related environment.
Exposure to AV equipment, including teleconferencing and videoconferencing, is considered an asset.
We are offering a part-time hourly position in a skilled, diverse and united workforce where employees feel engaged, supported, safe, respected and valued. The hourly rate for this position is $23.31 plus an additional 11.6% pay in lieu of holiday and statutory entitlements.
