Overview

Under general supervision of the Director of Operations, the Venue Information Technology Manager is responsible for installation and maintenance of hardware, software, and peripherals for the TD Coliseum & Concert Hall technology functions on a day-to-day basis as well as providing support to event-specific IT needs. Additionally, they will collaborate with venue leadership to establish venue strategy for technology systems in the venue that supports the fan experience. This position requires availability during nonstandard working hours, including weekends and holidays.

This role pays an annual salary of $80-000-$100,000 CAD

This position will remain open until September 26, 2025.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the team responsible for the installation and maintenance of onsite hardware and software including workstations, mobile devices, multimedia displays, and video conference system support
  • Manage the systems and technologies that support technology for the venue and business (Device Management, Identity, Access Control, etc.)
  • Provide technical leadership and support for all onsite staff and contractors
  • Understand and support event operations of Point of Sale, Network, Wi-Fi, Events, Operations, Box Office, and stadium communications needs
  • Develop and support long term planning, budgets, capital improvements, and budgets for technology systems throughout it’s lifecycle
  • Diagnose and repair hardware issues, contacting appropriate service vendors when necessary
  • Maintain efficient equipment storage and inventory for all technical assets
  • Report any system failures to Venue Leadership promptly
  • Document process/procedures and label equipment as needed
  • Develop and implement an equipment preventative maintenance program
  • Effectively organize and schedule upgrades/maintenance in collaboration with venue event and operations schedules
  • Support a wide range of physical cabling and wireless infrastructure (Fiber/Copper/AV/Broadcast/Wireless)
  • Manage printer infrastructure, lease agreements, and operations of venue print and copy needs
  • Provide excellent customer service assistance to internal and external clients
  • Improve programming and maintenance of the technical infrastructure over time
  • Assist in the professional development of all direct reports, including performance appraisals
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
  • Three to five (3-5) years of experience in an IT or Desktop Support role, preferably in the events and sports/entertainment industry.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft 365 administration and Office suite.
  • Proficiency with MacOS and Windows operating systems, hardware, and peripherals.
  • Proficiency with Client – Server infrastructure and support on site.
  • Proficiency with technology operations around cloud-based services for various business and venue systems.
  • Experience with multi-function imaging devices, copiers, and printers.
  • Basic knowledge of configuring and troubleshooting iOS and Android based mobile devices.
  • Basic understanding of networking protocols and troubleshooting (CCNA or equivalent a strong plus).
  • Have experience supporting network equipment such as switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Working knowledge of telephone and VoIP systems.
  • Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, professional and courteous manner which fosters a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
  • Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Effectively work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be detail oriented and possess excellent follow-through skills.
  • Excellent documentation and process skills.
  • Possess knowledge and experience in industry terminology, event related services, facility capabilities, and technical requirements for the types of events anticipated at the facility.
  • Ability to work independently, exercising judgment and initiative.
  • The ability to work effectively with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds.
  • The ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work, nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to consistently adhere to the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to read and understand building drawings, event plans, and operational diagrams.
