About Megaphone

Megaphone is an award-winning social enterprise based in Vancouver that creates low-barrier economic opportunities and amplifies the voices of people experiencing poverty and homelessness.

Founded in 2007, Megaphone publishes Megaphone magazine, the Hope in Shadows calendar, and the Voices of the Street anthology. At the core of our work is the Vendor Program, which responds to the lack of accessible income opportunities for people facing barriers to traditional employment. Each year, we train and support more than 150 vendors to sell our publications on the streets of Vancouver to earn income and build connections with the broader community.

Our Mission: To change the story on poverty by promoting social equity, amplifying marginalized voices, and creating meaningful work.

Comfortable working independently and collaboratively

Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets) and social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram)

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license

Comfort with setting and maintaining boundaries

Experience with NationBuilder, Salesforce, or other databases
