Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic - 1st and 2nd Year Apprentice

Sunshine Village, located in Banff National Park, is seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic Apprentice to join our team. This role involves supporting the maintenance and operation of our powered equipment fleet, including snowcats, snowmobiles, and various vehicles, ensuring safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Assisting with inspections, repairs, and maintenance of equipment and vehicles.
  2. Completing documentation such as daily checks, maintenance logs, and reports.
  3. Communicating operational conditions and adhering to safety policies.
  4. Supporting senior mechanics and liaising with external contractors.

Qualifications:

  • HET apprenticeship or equivalent; CVIP certification is an asset.
  • Valid Alberta driver’s license (Class 4 or 2 preferred).
  • Own basic tools suitable for the role.
  • Positive attitude, good communication skills, and ability to work outdoors in all weather.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours.

Additional considerations:

  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 45 kg, and work around moving machinery.
  • Provision of CSA-approved safety footwear and own transportation may be required.
