Job description

Vehicle Assembler (Electrical Specialist)

Reports to: Service Manager

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm

The vehicle assembler is responsible for installing a range of accessories and body components onto vehicle chassis and assists with connecting body builder systems to vehicle. The vehicle assembler will prepare and gather parts to install onto vehicles to the required specifications including wiring and electrical components.

Responsibilities

Here are some other responsibilities of the vehicle assembler:

  • assembling pieces and parts using specialized tools and equipment
  • reading instructions and designs before assembling products
  • ensuring they have the necessary parts and supplies before assembly
  • using high quality and functional materials plus identifying materials with defects
  • positioning and aligning parts and components on the line with hoists or manually
  • using templates to assembly products correctly
  • following the company's safety standards and policies
  • conducting inventory checks
  • collaborating with other employees on the assembly line
  • maintaining equipment and tools
  • completing quality checks and forms
Qualifications that a candidate MUST possess to gain consideration for this position
  • Experience using hand and power tools
  • Experience with electrical component installation
  • Able to read and follow instructions and diagrams
  • Able to work independently and as a productive team member
  • Strong Interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of truck dealerships and heavy-duty parts an asset
  • Willing to learn and able to take direction and work under tight deadlines
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must be a team player with a strong sense of commitment to the customer
  • Must be self-starter and motivated
  • Must possess good written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to handle competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Must conduct his / herself in a professional manner
Qualifications that are WANTED in a candidate
  • Previous experience with manufacturing or vehicle assembly / rig ups.
  • CDK accounting software experience
  • Good organizational skills
  • The ability to communicate and work with others
  • Strive for respect and teamwork within all departments
  • Able to utilize manufacturer and supplier websites
