Grey County is seeking farm laborers to support our fruit and vegetable operations in a rural Ontario setting. Work is performed on-site at our fields and greenhouse facilities, requiring physical endurance and the ability to handle varied weather conditions.

The role involves planting, weeding, harvesting, packing, and basic crop care. The position is seasonal and full-time, with a typical 40–44 hour work week and overtime as required.

Qualifications

• Permanent resident of Canada or authorized to work in Canada.
• Ability to perform physically demanding farm work.
• Experience in outdoor farming or greenhouse environments is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Hoe between the rows to weed and cultivate crops.
• Clear fields of brush, debris, wood and stones.
• Prepare and pack harvested produce for market, sort by grade and size.
• Plant, irrigate and care for crops according to guidelines.
• Load and unload crates and farm supplies as needed.
• Identify crop diseases and health issues and report findings.

Tasks

• Apply the technique of hoeing between the row
• Clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens and other work areas
• Clear fields of wood and stones
• Divide fresh harvested produce into marketable lots and non-marketable lots
• Grade vegetables and fruits into different grades according to the size, shape, colour and volume to fetch high price in market.
