Large general contractor is seeking experienced VDC Manager / BIM Manager with 8+ years of experience across buildings and/or infrastructure in Vancouver BC, Calgary AB and Toronto ON. Salary range is $110,000 - $140,000. Outpost Recruitment is excited to work with our client on this full-time permanent role.
Responsibilities of VDC Manager / BIM Manager:
- Coordinate with Project Managers and Construction Managers to develop or improve a project-specific process for utilizing or creating 3D information for the purpose of estimating, logistics, planning, scheduling, coordination, field layout and/or facilitates management.
- Work with VDC staff in support, maintenance, development and implementation of project specifics VDC standards.
- Develop and improve project documentation, such as the project BIM Execution Plan and schedules; coordinate and set up processes for complete model life cycle development and functionality (3D, 4D, 5D, & 6D model development and integration).
- Manage model maturity to facilitate quantity takeoffs and for progressive cost estimating and project control.
- Facilitate consultant and trades through multiple project phases with virtual design and construction process.
- Manage information exchange protocol between the company, subcontractors and third-party modeling consultants and trades.
- Liaise with VDC Regional Managers to drive decisions and implement hardware and infrastructure requirements to support a collaborative approach to work sharing, utilizing teams in different geographic areas under different project delivery styles.
- Collaborate in the implementation of improvements program, including setting BIM plan goals, management plan, protocols and standards of corporate VDC.
Education & Experience of VDC Manager / BIM Manager:
- You have a degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or equivalent.
- You will have 8+ years of direct experience in the planning and implementation of BIM/VDC Protocols in projects (specific design or coordination experience with Civil Infrastructure would be an asset).
- You have expert knowledge of, and proven practical background in VDC/BIM related software configuration and deployment (Revit, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Navisworks, Synchro, etc.).
- You have strong project management skills with the demonstrated ability to multi-task along with the flexibility and openness to work amidst changing priorities and compressed timelines.
- Understanding of integrated project workflows and basic project management & controls.
