We are seeking a dedicated and experienced VDC Mechanical Area Manager to join our team in Vaughan, Ontario. You will lead a regional team of VDC Designers and Project Leads, ensuring the seamless design and completion of installation models and drawings. Your leadership will be crucial in shaping the future of Modern Niagara’s infrastructure through innovative projects and collaboration that set industry standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Build and lead a dynamic team, ensuring training and engagement.
2. Manage project deadlines and deliverables, implementing QAQC checks and ensuring departmental consistency.
3. Foster collaboration between the VDC team and other departments for coordinated models.
4. Oversee regional VDC team performance, ensuring projects stay on budget, on schedule, and profitable.
5. Implement procedures, optimize systems, and introduce time-saving initiatives.
6. Ensure consistent BIM execution for coordinated project delivery across disciplines.
7. Review and report on ongoing project statuses, including completion, coordination, and optimization.
8. Develop BIM implementation and execution plans, as well as project qualification statements.
9. Coordinate staffing assignments with construction/project managers.
10. Prepare pre-qualifications, bid packages, and budgets related to VDC scope.
11. Ensure quality assurance for all VDC documents.

Qualifications and Job Requirements:

1. 10+ years of VDC/BIM design experience, with at least 5 years managing teams and regional operations.
2. Post-secondary diploma in mechanical or construction technology, or extensive related experience; Eng or CET is an asset.
3. Knowledge of contractual delivery methods.
4. Understanding of BIM standards, guidelines, and protocols.
5. Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
6. Proven leadership in building successful teams.
7. Excellent collaboration, presentation, and insight-sharing skills.
8. Experience in conflict and crisis management, maintaining effective client and stakeholder relationships.
9. Sense of urgency, drive, and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
