20hrs/biweekly average (rotating 16hrs/24hrs per week)

7:00am - 3:30pm

Responsibilities

Assess patients, place and assist in maintenance of the appropriate vascular access device (VAD) at the bedside, using ultrasound and modified Seldinger Technique (MST) for placement. Utilize high degree of computer skills with data input and reporting mechanisms. Documentation, including data for quality measures of routine audits, and CORE Measures; may include clinical trials and studies. Check and reorder supplies and medications, and stock as needed daily. Prioritize all requests based on acuity and discharge. Provide education to patient and family/significant other education and staff. Follow up patient VAD status, dressing changes and troubleshooting problems.

Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING1. Current and valid State RN License.2. Current BLS and ACLS(AHA/ARC) certificate upon hire and maintain current.3. Infusion Nurse Certification preferred.4. Completion of Ultrasound guided PICC placement using Modified Seldinger Technique program.5. Minimum of three years’ nursing experience, with high level of competency in peripheral catheter placement.6. PICC and other Vascular Access Device care required.
