Job description
Position Summary

Under the direction of the Manager Varsity Sports, the Varsity Supervisor will conduct on-site preparation and supervision for the Varsity sport programs on campus. Directly supervise a team of administrative and support staff employees. Meet with employees, set workload, and verify work. Will create work schedule which will vary per week depending on the sporting events and administrative work load.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Guide and support the AMUSE sports officials’ staff through preparation for the varsity event. Ensure that all staff are ready for game/event start time.
  • Supervise 5-7 AMUSE sports official staff before, during and after varsity sports competitions. Must be onsite to ensure the success of the sports official’s tasks.
  • Ensure that the sport officials submit all mandatory league requirements at the end of the events. This includes, but is not limited to, internal sports information as well as league portals such as the RSEQ S1, Presto, and Spordle and VidSwap.
  • Report to Varsity Manager at the end of each event that game protocol guidelines have been met.
  • Game document preparation (game sheets, sign in sheets, rosters, AMUSE sport officials staff shift scheduling).
  • Assist with Practice/Game Schedule verification.
  • Troubleshoot issues, resolve on site concerns (such as force of nature issues, staff shortage, game official delays).
  • Approve time in Workday.
  • Assist with the prospective student‑athlete journey pathway to team selections.
  • Assist with student‑athlete awards and honors receptions.
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Major in Education, recreation administration, sport management, leisure studies, physical education, kinesiology, or comparable degree.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership, team building, and decision‑making skills.
  • Solid knowledge of Varsity sports.
  • Experience managing employees in a unionized environment.
  • Ability to work with budgets.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule which will include evenings and weekends as required.
  • Possess a current CPR, AED, and First Aid Instructor certification, or ability to obtain one.
  • Bilingual English and French.

Minimum Education and Experience: DEC III 3 Years Related Experience.

Annual Salary: (MPEX Grade 02) $55,850.00 - $65,710.00 - $75,570.00
