  • Successful completion of a post-secondary program from a recognized post-secondary institution in a field relevant to the duties of the position.

  • Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) or Certified Engineering Technician (CTech)
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (or equivalent)



Asset Experience

  • Experience in providing engineering design and technical support services for maintenance or construction projects.
  • Experience in leading project teams.
  • Experience in supervising employees.
  • Experience in managing SharePoint folders and document repositories.
  • Experience in managing Fire and Life Safety systems.
  • Experience in applying health and safety standards and maintaining compliance.
  • Experience in managing contract administration.
  • Experience in managing preventative maintenance.
  • Experience in reviewing, researching and developing technical documentation such as specifications, Statements of Work, technical Statements of Requirements, drawings, and cost estimates.
  • Experience in developing, implementing, or managing an Environmental Management System.
  • Experience in conducting environmental risk assessments or investigations.
  • Experience in applying tank regulations.
  • Experience in using a resource planning system such as Defence Resource Management Information System (DRMIS) or SAP PS (Project Systems).
  • Experience in using a drafting and design application such as AutoCAD.
  • Experience in working with the Department of National Defence (DND) or the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) as it relates to infrastructure development.



KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge of Project management principles.
  • Knowledge of Life Safety systems.

Operational Requirements

Depending on the position being staffed, operational requirements may be considered conditions of employment.

  • Willing and able to undertake extensive travel.
  • Willing and able to work overtime as required.
  • Willing and able to comply with applicable safety regulations and procedures including wearing of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Willing and able to work at heights, in enclosed spaces, and physically lift up to 25 kg when required.
  • Possess and maintain a valid unrestricted provincial or territorial driver’s licence valid in the location of work.
  • Willing and eligible to obtain and maintain a Departmental driver’s licence (DND 404).
