About the role

We're expanding our operations in the Bay Area and seeking collaborative team members to help drive our mission forward. Our Driver Flex position is a dynamic role that combines warehouse operations and driving responsibilities. This position offers variety in your day-to-day work, allowing you to make a meaningful impact both in the warehouse and on the road serving our members.

This role combines driver and warehouse shifts for a 40-hour workweek, Monday - Friday:

- Driving shifts: 7:30am - 6:00pm (10 hours) @ $23.50 per hour

Overtime is paid when driving hours exceed 8 hours in a single shift; overtime is not guaranteed

- Warehouse shifts: 7:30am - 4:00pm OR10:00am-6:30pm (8 hours) @ $21.50 per hour

Tenure-based wage increases at five months ($1.00) and one year ($1.50)

General Responsibilities:

• Transition between driving and warehouse responsibilities as needed
• Follow all company policies and safety procedures consistently
• Support additional operational needs as they arise
• Maintain positive communication with team members across all functions
• A smartphone is required for GPS navigation and route management (phone stipend provided).

Driving Responsibilities

• Safely operate Ridwell high-roof cargo vans throughout the Bay Area
• Complete between 125 - 150 daily stops efficiently and accurately
• Collect members' materials from designated bins at their homes
• Assist with completing remaining stops after finishing your assigned route
• Navigate routes effectively using the provided smartphone apps
• Maintain regular communication with our dedicated Driver Support team regarding route timing
• Manage loading and unloading of vehicles efficiently
• Deliver Ridwell bins and new member kits to members’ homes
• Provide excellent customer service when interacting with Ridwell members
• Work safely outdoors and in all weather conditions, various temperature extremes, including heat, cold, moisture, and wind

Warehouse Responsibilities

• Sort and process materials carefully to maximize reuse and recycling potential
• Operate warehouse equipment including balers, pallet jacks, and straddle stackers, with on-the-job training provided as needed
• Prepare outbound shipments accurately
• Other duties assigned as necessary by management

Job Requirements

• Ability to maintain consistent attendance - we count on each other to be here when scheduled so we can deliver excellent service as a team
• Must be 21 years or older with a valid CA driver’s license for at least 3 years
• Ability to read and follow written or oral instructions in English
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach, and lift up to 49 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Must own and be able to use a smartphone and Google or Apple maps
• Ability to communicate effectively digitally via text and email.
• Must pass a background and motor vehicle history check if offered the position.
