Description

Summary: Responsible for driving Agency vehicle as directed– transporting clients to and from scheduled appointments, transporting clients to and from scheduled shopping or social events, transporting staff to and from client visits and community events, other appointments as directed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Includes the following, other duties may be assigned.

  • Adheres to Transportation Policy and Procedure.
  • Observes all vehicle and traffic safety rules and regulations.
  • Remains in close communications with office staff as designated.
  • Ensures passengers follow transport and program rules.
  • Communicates all concerns regarding clients to supervisor.
  • Ensures vehicle cleaning and maintenance schedules are followed.
  • Ensures timeliness of pick-ups / drop-offs.
  • Checks transportation schedules daily and completes required documentation of trips.
  • Maintains clean driving records and valid driver’s license.
  • Completes all recordkeeping in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Performs other duties as requested.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position, operating primarily during the hours of 9.00am to 5.00pm, Monday through Friday with occasional earlier start times. Occasional evening and weekend hours as needed.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

  • Medium physical work, which includes bending, stooping, sitting, standing, stretching, pushing, pulling.
  • Climbing in and out of agency vehicles of different sizes and heights.
  • Loading and unloading donations, tabling event items, food pantry deliveries / AAF deliveries.
  • Enter and exit buildings outdoors on a routine basis.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Skills, licenses and / or competencies:

  • Bi-lingual a plus.
  • Clean, valid driver’s license and ability to drive safely.
  • Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills.
  • Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team.

Must be comfortable serving low income, disenfranchised and / or homeless populations of all religions, in a way consistent with CCCSDC culture.
