Job summary

University of British Columbia, Vancouver, seeks a Data Coordinator and Developer (VEC) within the Vaccine Evaluation Centre. The role leads data management for multiple studies, coordinates the data team, develops procedures, and supports project management across IMPACT centers.

The incumbent designs CRFs, manages data flow from field to storage, and trains staff to ensure high-quality, compliant data for analyses and reporting.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
• University degree in Computer Science is strongly recommended.
• Minimum of two years of related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of web-based clinical data management software.
• Ability to perform advanced programming.
• Demonstrated information management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Proven problem solving, analytical and decision making skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates data tasks for the Vaccine Evaluation Center studies and oversees the data team.
• Provides administrative contract deliverables and monitors data deliverables across IMPACT Centers.
• Develops CRFs for each study and ensures appropriate data collection tools and manuals are used.
• Designs and implements systems for organizing data flow from field to analysis and storage.
• Supervises data entry and data monitoring staff and coordinates workload and priorities.
• Ensures data management practices align with good clinical data standards.
