Purpose of Position: To develop, maintain and manage sales opportunities for Hexagon's portfolio within the mining industry in the defined territory focusing on technologies that support improved comminution (particle size, flow, etc.) and optimizing plant throughput.

  1. Achieve business targets set on an annual and quarterly basis.
  2. Develop business plans and strategies in the assigned territory with relevant stakeholders.
  3. Contribute to the development of project deployment, customer service, and technical support service for the region.
  4. Establish business opportunities for the Mining business in the region of responsibility, and maintain and build strategic relationships with existing and potential customers and industry contacts.
  5. Specific focus on how drilling, blasting and extraction impact comminution and the monitoring of physical characteristics of materials and its impacts on downstream processing.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand client needs and provide tailored solutions and value creation in debottlenecking mining processing facilities from primary crusher to end product.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  1. Develop and implement strategic business development plans to continue the growth of the Hexagon product portfolio in the US & Canada.
  2. Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the region, industry, and customer needs and requirements.
  3. Identify new regions for business development opportunities, performing market analysis for these regions to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  4. Manage sales prospects through to closure and monitor against approved budgets to ensure financial results are on, or ideally above, target and implement plans to counteract deviations.
  5. Ability to organize, track and report on sales pipeline and progress updates.
  6. Present and demonstrate the product range and associated benefits for customers.
  7. Negotiate sales contracts and associated training and implementation milestones.
  8. Identify, foster and leverage relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, and industry contacts supporting the attainment of the goals for the business.
  9. Work collaboratively with the Product Management team to provide insights into client and industry product requirements as well as potential developments which will set Hexagon apart from its competitors.
  10. Represent Hexagon Mining in industry events and tradeshows and collaborate with the Product Management & Marketing team, and Sales & Account Management teams to prepare for such events.
  11. Compliance with all of Hexagon's policies and procedures.
  12. Other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time.

Knowledge and Experience - Required:

  1. Tertiary qualifications in Business, Mining Engineering, or Geology with a working knowledge of the products, competitors, and client base within the applicable territory.
  2. Particular focus on how drilling, blasting and extraction impact comminution and the monitoring of physical characteristics of materials and its impacts on downstream processing.
  3. Considerable commercial experience in the mining/geology industry - highly desirable.
  4. Commercial experience dealing with technical products and solutions used by the mining and mineral industry is essential.
  5. 5+ years of successful sales experience in a relevant industry.

Knowledge and Experience - Desired:

  1. Strong presentation skills especially to groups and forums of customers.
  2. A passion for achieving business goals and sales targets.
  3. Solid understanding of the mining/mineral exploration industry, and the application of technology in mining and mineral extraction and its impacts on comminution.
  4. High level of personal drive, self-motivation, and a keen interest in technology.
  5. Superior problem-solving, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  6. Strong time management and prioritization skills.
  7. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  8. Ability to travel as required - there is a considerable amount of travel (within USA & Canada) required to fulfil this role.

Travel: Extensive regional travel. Other international travel may be required occasionally.
