Job description

Title: UX/UI Designer - P3

Location: Remote - Canada

Reports to: UX/UI Manager

This is a 13-month contract position.

The Role:

The UX/UI Designer will join the J.D. Power’s User Experience team, tasked to produce innovative digital strategies that deliver exceptional experiences for users while supporting business objectives and vision. The ideal candidate works best in highly collaborative, cross-functional teams and interacts with several roles throughout the design process including Clients, Executives, Product Owners, Product Managers, Business Analysts, Architects, Engineering teams, Technical Writers and QA Analysts. The UX Designer works across the user experience domain, including interaction design, usability research, user testing, information architecture, and visual design.


The Impact You Will Have in This Role:

The UX/UI Design team is the center of excellence for user-centered design within J.D. Power. The role centers on creating successful user experiences through research, feedback, analysis, testing and best practices. Additionally, the role will create mockups and concepts for products in the sales pipeline.

What You’ll Be Doing in This Role:

List the tasks related to this role

  • Develop and maintain UX/UI experiences for desktop, tablet, and/or mobile devices through wireframes, prototypes, design mock-ups, specifications, navigation maps and other design documents
  • Test proposed design solutions for usability and interpret results from research data to make recommendations on design direction.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders including Clients, Executives, Product Owners, Product Managers, Marketing, Business Analysts, Architects, Engineering teams, QA Analysts, Technical Writers and external partners to understand business/functional requirements and technical considerations
  • Present and rationalize UX/UI designs to project key stakeholders, adapting your communication style to varied audiences, including technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Support Sales & Marketing initiatives including print, web, mobile and multimedia presentations

Qualifications of This Role:

  • Demonstrable experience with user-centered design principles, with a solid understanding of all aspects of client-side design including UI, graphics, layout and work-flow analysis
  • Strong grasp of UX Principles such as Information Architecture, Content Strategy,
    Human-Centered Design, Usability (Voice of the customer), and Visual DesignEducation
  • Proficiency with Figma or comparable UX tools as well as Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, especially design related programs (photoshop, illustrator etc.)
  • Experience running usability studies and research to support design decisions.
  • Willingness and ability to successfully incorporate direction and feedback from multiple sources
