Your Team
Join Flair’s UX/UI team as a UX/UI Designer, where creativity and user-focused thinking are essential to crafting exceptional digital experiences. Reporting to the Manager, UX/UI, you will collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and other designers to create intuitive, user-centric designs that align with our brand and business objectives. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping the customer journey and enhancing the overall digital experience. The role may occasionally require flexibility to work evenings or weekends and travel as needed.
This position is based on-site at our Vancouver, BC corporate office.
A Day In The Life
As a UX/UI Designer, you will:
- User Research: Assist in conducting user research to understand customer needs, behaviors, and pain points. Translate these insights into actionable design solutions that enhance the overall user experience.
- Wireframing and Prototyping: Create wireframes and interactive prototypes to visualize and test design concepts. Iterate based on feedback and user testing to refine the interface.
- UI Design: Develop visually appealing, user-friendly interfaces that align with Flair Airlines’ brand guidelines. Ensure consistency across digital platforms and devices. Help foster awareness and appreciation of UX and UI design within the team culture.
- Collaboration: Partner closely with cross-functional teams—including developers, product managers, and designers. Participate in design critiques and workshops, contributing to a supportive and innovative team environment.
- User Testing: Support usability testing to gather user feedback and incorporate insights into the design process. Continuously refine designs to improve usability and satisfaction.
- Industry Awareness: Stay up to date with the latest design trends, best practices, and emerging technologies. Bring fresh ideas and innovative approaches to the design team.
- Idea Sharing: Actively contribute to brainstorming sessions, sharing insights and fresh perspectives. Collaborate with colleagues to nurture a culture of creativity and excellence.
- Workshop Support: Assist in organizing and facilitating design workshops that encourage team collaboration and creative problem-solving.
- Learning and Development: Take initiative in personal and professional growth by attending relevant trainings and sharing new knowledge with the team.
- Team Engagement: Foster a positive and motivating work atmosphere by promoting open communication and teamwork. Bridge the gap between design and other departments to emphasize the impact of UX/UI on overall business success.
What You Bring To The Role
The preferred candidate should exemplify Flair's core values of respect, honesty, accountability, and efficiency while demonstrating success in previous roles. Additionally, we are seeking individuals who possess:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent
- Portfolio showcasing relevant design projects and demonstrating a strong understanding of UX/UI principles.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Understanding of mobile first and responsive experiences
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Miro, Jira, Clickup or similar.
- Basic understanding of front-end development technologies and their impact on design.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with full English proficiency
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges and design methodologies
- Requirements:
- Clear criminal record check and satisfactory references.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction.
