About the Role - UX/UI Designer

We are seeking a UX/UI Designer to join our team. This role is crucial for enhancing the user experience and interface design of our digital projects, which span service innovation, program review, and digital transformation initiatives within the public sector. The ideal candidate will possess a robust portfolio demonstrating expertise in creating intuitive, user-centric design solutions and a solid background in working collaboratively within an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience developing UX artifacts, including scenarios, storyboards, wireframes, flows, and interactive prototypes.
• Proven track record with front-end design research and delivering impactful design outputs.
• 2 years of hands-on experience within a cross-functional product team in an Agile environment.
• Expertise in building and maintaining component libraries/design systems.
• Experience working as a UX/UI Designer on large-scale public sector digital initiatives or comparable projects.
• Background in employment with a dedicated public sector central digital office (e.g., UK Government Digital Service, Ontario Digital Service, British Columbia Government Digital Experience, Government of Alberta Digital Innovation Office, or similar).
• Demonstrated ability to explore and communicate multiple design solutions for a given problem or feature through sketches, user flows, wireframes, functional prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
• 2 years of production design experience for multiple digital devices (web, mobile, etc.) or complex enterprise applications.
• Proficient understanding and application of accessibility standards and principles, including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
• Familiarity with current methodologies and design thinking, especially as it pertains to enhancing service experiences.
• Proficiency in using frontend design applications such as Axure, Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, etc.
• Experience in building and maintaining component libraries/design systems.
