Job description

VERB is a digital marketing and technology agency located in downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia. Our global clients offer the opportunity to work and collaborate with some of the world's biggest destinations, resorts, and travel brands—and with our employee travel credit, it's easy to experience them for yourself. We take a balanced approach to work/life and have fun at the office—or wherever we happen to be working. We are passionate about exceeding expectations and we thrive on jobs other agencies might find too big, or too difficult, or too fast.

Sound good? Great, here's who we're looking for...

The UX Designer's role is client-centric. This role interprets insights, integrates them with a client's vision, and uses knowledge of best practices to build products that are both functional and desirable.

What You Will Do
  1. Work with a team of designers, developers, writers, and producers to understand project requirements and create concepts that help define the best possible user experience, while supporting the client's business objectives.
  2. Connect business goals to user needs through sketching, concept creation, wireframes, defining user flows, and producing site maps with prototyping.
  3. Leverage user and consumer insights, analytics, best practices, and competitor analysis to guide project decisions.
  4. Prepare UX documentation (e.g., site architecture, wireframes, heat mapping audits, use cases, task flows) for team use.
  5. Document findings and present recommendations to stakeholders clearly and confidently.
  6. Join client calls to discuss findings and recommendations effectively.
  7. Build wireframes and digital prototypes, and iterate on designs based on feedback from stakeholders.
  8. Conduct audits using analytics and user data to make informed product enhancement recommendations.
  9. Develop information architectures and suggest improvements to meet client objectives.
  10. Identify opportunities to refine the UX process.
  11. Apply knowledge of tourism and travel industry trends, competitive activity, and e-commerce best practices to improve user experience.
Requirements
  1. 3+ years of relevant experience in UX Design, Experience Architecture, or related roles.
  2. Post-secondary education in Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience Design, User Research, or equivalent experience.
  3. Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
  4. Ability to solve complex problems through analysis, creative thinking, and collaboration.
  5. Knowledge of web accessibility principles, W3C guidelines, and responsive design.
  6. Confidence in presenting complex findings to stakeholders.
  7. Strong data analysis skills to inform decision-making.
  8. Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
  9. Highly organized, adaptable to a fast-paced environment, and capable of working well in a team.
  10. Flexible, collaborative, and motivated attitude.
  11. Assets include experience with Google Analytics, PageSense, Clarity, Slickplan, or similar tools; knowledge of HTML and CSS responsive design; UI design skills.
Benefits

Our benefits are anything but basic, including vacation time from day one (plus a holiday bonus week), an annual travel credit, and free snacks and drinks. We also offer:

  • 100% premium coverage for Group Health Insurance (medical, dental, vision) with a health spending account.
  • Wellness spending account.
  • Company-matched RRSP program.
  • Top-up for parental/pregnancy leave.
