We are searching for a Utility Worker / Bakery Help to join our PRODUCTION KITCHEN team based in HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA.

About the Opportunity

  • Works as an integral part of a dedicated team in maintaining a clean, healthy environment for residents and staff
  • Assisting in the preparing baked goods according to established standards, procedure, recipes and menus; assist with potato production.
  • Receiving, storing and rotating inventory of all required foods and supplies;
  • Assisting Bakers and Cooks with measuring ingredients.
  • Maintaining safety and sanitation in the kitchen to meet legislative and organizational standards
  • Advises Supervisor of any and all equipment malfunctions and repair requirements, as well as any relevant information and/or observations
  • Takes every reasonable precaution to protect own health and safety and the health and safety of other persons at or near the workplace

About You

In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:

• A high-school diploma or equivalent education
• Ability to use chemical cleaning agents and equipment
• Ability to read and write in the English language is required
• Current First Aid & CPR certificate is considered an asset
• A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care
