This position requires the successful candidate to provide daily control of all water and wastewater treatment operations within our facility to ensure that residents have safe and clean water in accordance with Provincial and Municipal Legislation, policies and standards.

This is a Part-Time Permanent Position.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
•Class 5 Manitoba Driver’s Licence is required
•Completion of Grade 12 is required
•Any Certification in Manitoba for the following classifications would be considered an asset:
– Class I Water Treatment – Class I Wastewater Collection
– Small System Water Distribution – Class I Wastewater Treatment
•Knowledge of relevant legislation and safety regulations
•Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
•Excellent mechanical aptitude

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Maintains water treatment plant, sewage lagoon, water supply wells, lift stations and related equipment
•Records and maintains statistical data from gauges and charts of water volumes supplied, system pressures, pumping rates, inflows, outflows, temperature and chemical control utilizing manual and computer record keeping systems
•Be available for the on-call rotation (once trained)
•Performs other related duties and attend training as assigned.

WAGE RATE: As Per Collective Agreement, $19.99 – $23.52/hour based on experience
HOURS OF WORK: 2 Hours/day, work with our team of Utility Operators sharing days and weekends. Also, availability for call outs. Participate in a rotating schedule. Consisting of some weekends
