We are currently hiring for a Part Time Seasonal Utility Meter Technician who will be performing Submetering Disconnects/Reconnects and collections in the Kingston, ON area. Applicants need to be at least 18 years of age, hold a valid driver’s license, have a reliable vehicle, and have a clean criminal and driving record.
Work schedule is Part Time, day shift between M-F, mostly doing vacation coverage. Work hours will be almost full time in July and August.
All Of Our Field Staff Are Provided With
- Safety gear including company boot (allowance), vests, glasses, etc.
- Paid Training
- Some work will be paid by piece rate, while other work will be paid a flat daily rate
Responsibilities
Collections involves recovering outstanding debts through face-to-face communication between debtors and collection agents. Collectors are trained professionals skilled in communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, and legal/regulatory debt collection frameworks.
- Follow all Olameter Collections processes at all times.
- Complete all daily assignments/tasks as directed by Olameter RFM or on-site management.
- Upload/download daily route/work assignments using handheld data-capture devices as required.
- Adhere to all safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Act professionally and courteously at all times, exercising common sense.
- Maintain personal hygiene and neat appearance (clean uniform, well-groomed).
- Follow all written procedures/checklists for efficient, accurate, and timely service.
- Report hazards/problems and suggest efficiencies to improve service quality.
- Update and maintain handheld field data (notes, meter locations, etc.).
- Comply with company policies on equipment and property use.
- Communicate weekly data for payroll and customer invoicing.
- Report issues and concerns directly to management, limiting communication with utilities to relevant issues.
- Use and care of PPE, reporting any damage or loss.
- Perform utility disconnects/reconnects as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned per project requirements.
Requirements
- EUSA and standard first aid/CPR A certification
- Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, current vehicle insurance
- Ability to provide a clean driver’s abstract and criminal background check
- Basic computer knowledge
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Proven customer relation skills
- High school diploma
- Access to confidential client information
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including rain, snow, cold, or heat, and travel by car, potentially on rough terrain
