We are currently hiring for a Part-Time Seasonal Utility Meter Technician who will perform Submetering Disconnects / Reconnects and collections in the Kingston, ON area. Applicants need to be at least 18 years old, hold a valid driver’s license, have a reliable vehicle, and a clean criminal and driving record.

Work schedule is part-time, day shift between Monday and Friday, mostly covering vacations. Hours will be almost full-time in August. The position runs until November, then resumes in May 2026.

All field staff are provided with:

  • Safety gear including company boots (allowance), vests, glasses, etc.
  • Paid training
  • Some work paid by piece rate, others by a flat daily rate

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out and adhere to all Olameter Collections processes.
  • Complete daily assignments as directed by Olameter RFM or onsite management.
  • Upload/download route data using handheld devices.
  • Follow safety procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Act professionally and courteously at all times.
  • Maintain personal hygiene and grooming standards.
  • Follow all procedures and checklists for efficient service.
  • Report hazards and suggest improvements.
  • Update and maintain handheld data accurately.
  • Care for company equipment and property.
  • Communicate data and issues promptly to management.
  • Use PPE properly and report damages.
  • Perform utility disconnects/reconnects as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • EUSA and CPR/AED certification.
  • Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and insurance.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and provide a clean driver’s abstract.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Good hand-eye coordination.
  • Proven customer service skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Access to confidential information.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and navigate rough terrain.
