About the Role:

As the Utility Engineer II, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth inspections and analysis of overhead electrical infrastructure to ensure the accuracy and reliability of utility asset datasets. In this role, you will identify potential hazards, provide real-time data to utility companies, and contribute to improving utility service reliability.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth inspections and catalog utility assets with high accuracy.
  • Identify electrical equipment issues and potential hazards, providing real-time data to utility companies.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining utility asset datasets to support operational improvements.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure data accuracy and alignment with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to support safe and efficient project execution.
  • Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and best practices to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Participate in training programs to enhance technical knowledge and skill development.

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of experience in the electric utility field (preferred).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (must-have).
  • Proficient computer skills with good written and oral communication abilities (must-have).
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), national engineering standards, utility construction standards, and best industry engineering practices (nice-to-have).
  • Excellent organizational skills and the flexibility to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to work remotely and coordinate effectively with a distributed workforce.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and applying new technologies within the utility sector.

Tools/Technical Environment:

  • GIS software for utility asset mapping and analysis
  • Data management tools for cataloging and reporting
  • Communication platforms for collaboration with internal teams and stakeholders
  • Industry-standard reference materials, including NESC and engineering guidelines
