Job description

We are conducting electric meter upgrades in the Bathurst/Tracadie/Miramichi areas for NB Power, and are hiring Full Time Temporary Bilingual Electric Meter Installers! Applicants need to be at least 18 years of age, hold a valid driver’s license and have a clean criminal and driving history. Successful candidates will also need to be fluent in both English and French. Project is expected to run for approximately 6 months. NO EXPERIENCE is required with paid training! All Of Our Field Staff Are Provided With

• Safety gear including company boot (allowance), vests, glasses, etc.
• After the initial classroom training and field training (Paid hourly), employees will be transitioned to being paid on a piece work basis which allows most of our employees to earn in excess of $21/hr.
  
  

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for installing single phase electric meters by replacing an existing meter (change-out). The new meter and meter module are installed to automate the process of reading a meter for accurate consumption and billing.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license
• Must successfully pass pre-employment screenings: background check and driving record
• Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm
• Must be able to walk up to 5-10 km per day
• Fluency in both English and French

• Little supervision to give you freedom to work independently and manage your own day
  
  

Knowledge And Abilities

• Successfully complete the company’s training program and pass applicable written and field tests
• Learn and apply safety measure relating to motor vehicle operation and other field related matters
