Job summary

Olameter is hiring Full Time Electric Meter Installers to upgrade electric meters in the Nobleord, AB region for Fortis Alberta. No previous experience required; paid training provided at $31.35/hour.

A company vehicle is supplied and you will transition to a piece-rate pay model after training, with potential Saturday work. Applicants must be 18+, hold a valid driver’s license, and pass background and driving record checks.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license and have a clean criminal and driving history.
• No experience required with paid training.
• Independent outdoor work with ability to walk 5–10 km per day.
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm (some Saturdays possible).

Responsibilities

• Install single-phase electric meters by replacing existing ones.
• Install meter module to automate readings for billing.
• Adhere to safety practices and company training.

We are conducting electric meter upgrades in the Nobleord, AB region for Fortis Alberta, and are hiring Full Time Electric Meter Installers! Applicants need to be at least 18 years of age, hold a valid driver’s license and have a clean criminal and driving history. NO EXPERIENCE is required with paid training! The position is expected to work until December 2027.

All of our field staff are provided with:

• Company vehicle
• Paid training at $31.35/hour, up to a total of $250.80 for a full day
• Will be transitioned to piece rate once training is successfully completed, unlocking your earning potential!

Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for installing single phase electric meters by replacing an existing meter (change-out). The new meter and meter module are installed to automate the process of reading a meter for accurate consumption and billing.

Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license
• Must successfully pass pre-employment screenings: background check and driving record
• Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm (Potential to work Saturdays as well)
• Must be able to walk up to 5-10 km per day
• Must be able to complete aReadme test at 100%

Working Conditions and Hours:

• Little supervision to give you freedom to work independently and manage your own day

Knowledge and Abilities:

• Successfully complete the company’s training program and pass applicable written and field tests
• Learn and apply safety measure relating to motor vehicle operation and other field related matters
