Job summary

Olameter is hiring Full Time Temporary Electric Meter Installers in the Calgary area to upgrade meters for Fortis Alberta. No experience is required, with paid training and a company vehicle provided. Roles are outdoor, independent work with a schedule of Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm and potential Saturdays.

The position ends around December, with progression to piece-rate after training. Applicants must be 18+, hold a valid driver’s license, and pass safety tests.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
• No experience required with paid training.
• Must be able to walk 5-10 km per day.
• Must be able to pass Readme test at 100%.

We are conducting electric meter upgrades in the Calgary area for Fortis Alberta, and are hiring Full Time Temporary Electric Meter Installers! Applicants need to be at least 18 years of age, hold a valid driver's license and have a clean criminal and driving history. NO EXPERIENCE is required with paid training! If you consider yourself an independent worker and enjoy being outside, this job is for you!

Position is expected to work until December.

All of our field staff are provided with:

• Company vehicle


• Paid training at $31.35/hour, up to a total of $250.80 for a full day


• Will be transitioned to piece rateonce training is successfully completed, unlocking your earning potential!

Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for installing single phase electric meters by replacing an existing meter (change-out). The new meter and meter module are installed to automate the process of reading a meter for accurate consumption and billing.

Requirements:

• Valid driver's license


• Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm (Potential to work Saturdays as well)


• Must be able to walk up to 5-10 km per day

Working Conditions and Hours:

• Little supervision to give you freedom to work independently and manage your own day

Knowledge and Abilities:

• Successfully complete the company's training program and pass applicable written and field tests


• Learn and apply safety measure relating to motor vehicle operation and other field related matters
