We are conducting electric meter upgrades in the St. Albert, Red Deer, Calgary, and Lethbridge, AB areas for Fortis Alberta, and are hiring Full-Time Electric Meter Installers! Applicants need to be at least 18 years of age, hold a valid driver’s license, and have a clean criminal and driving history. NO EXPERIENCE is required with paid training! If you consider yourself an independent worker and enjoy being outside, this job is for you!

Project will start in October 2025. Some positions will run for about 3-4 years, while some will be temporary from October to December 2025.

All of our field staff are provided with:

• Safety gear including company boots (allowance), vests, glasses, etc.
• Paid training at $31.35/hour, up to a total of $250.80 for a full day
• Transition to piece rate after successful training, unlocking your earning potential!

Responsibilities:

This position involves installing single-phase electric meters by replacing existing meters (change-out). The new meter and module are installed to automate meter reading for accurate consumption and billing.

Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license
• Successful completion of pre-employment screenings: background check and driving record
• Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (Potential to work Saturdays)
• Ability to walk 5-10 km per day
• Ability to pass a Readme test at 100%

Working Conditions and Hours:

• Outdoor work environment
• Minimal supervision, allowing independence

Knowledge and Abilities:

• Complete company training and pass written and field tests
• Apply safety measures related to vehicle operation and fieldwork
