Job summary

Davey Tree Expert Co. of Canada, Limited is seeking a Utility Arborist to support electric utility contracts across our Ontario locations, including Pickering.

The role involves hands-on tree trimming, pruning, and removal to ensure client satisfaction and safety. The successful candidate will hold a Certified Arborist or Utility Tree Trimmer designation, have electric utility trimming/climbing experience, and be able to work safely with a team.

Qualifications

• Certified Arborist or Utility Tree Trimmer designation required.
• Line clearance certification preferred.
• Electric utility tree trimming/climbing experience.
• Understanding and safe canopy ascent at all heights.
• Minimum 1 year experience.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Valid provincial driver’s license; 5-ton vehicle license and air brake endorsement considered an asset.
• Teamwork and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Provides line clearing and tree trimming for major electric utility providers.
• Operate as active crew member with ground crew and crew lead.
• Perform pruning and removal safely and skillfully.
• Pruning, thinning, and removing deadwood in tree canopies.
• Removal of hazardous trees.
• Trim or remove encroaching vegetation on rights of way.
• Maintain and operate tools including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts.
• Set up and clean up job sites; follow safety policies.
