Job summary

Davey Tree Expert Co. of Canada, Limited in London, Ontario is seeking a Utility Arborist to support major electric utility contracts.

You will join a on-site crew delivering line clearing, pruning and tree removal services across multiple sites while upholding safety and client expectations. The role requires certified arborist or utility tree trimmer designation, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and at least one year of experience.

Qualifications

• Certified Arborist or Utility Tree Trimmer designation required.
• Line clearance certification preferred.
• Electric utility tree trimming/climbing experience.
• Ability to safely ascend tree canopies at various heights.
• Minimum 1 year experience.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Valid provincial driver’s license; 5-ton vehicle license and air brake endorsement considered an asset.
• Team-based safety mindset and willingness to learn.
• Forestry, Horticulture or Landscaping background preferred.
• First Aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides line clearing and tree trimming services for major electric utility providers.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Pruning, thinning, and removing deadwood throughout the canopy.
• Removal of hazardous trees and encroaching vegetation from rights of way.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts.
• Responsible for job site setup and cleanup.
• Abide by safety policies and procedures.
