Position Overview:

As a Utility Arborist Apprentice with Davey Tree, you will gain exposure to all aspects of the Arborist role. You will support Arborists in the field, ensuring a safe, organized, and clean site. Over time, Davey Tree aims to support your development towards becoming a certified Arborist.

Pay Rate:

$29.96 - $33.95 per hour

Job Duties:

1. Control lowering ropes.
2. Supply tools for tree workers aloft.
3. Control road and sidewalk traffic using warning devices.
4. Perform maintenance inspections on equipment.
5. Cut, chip, and load brush and wood.
6. Complete job site cleanup.
7. Assist crew members in duties.
8. Follow safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

1. Valid provincial driver’s license; licensed to drive a 5-ton vehicle; air brake endorsement is an asset.
2. Experience in arboriculture or horticulture.
3. Utility line clearing experience is an asset.
4. Willingness to become a certified Arborist.
5. Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
6. Ability to work safely in a team and willingness to learn.
