Job summary

Arborwood Tree Services Inc. is seeking a motivated Certified Utility Arborist 444B to perform vegetation management work near energized electrical systems. The role prioritizes safety, regulatory compliance, and working around live lines.

You will operate chainsaws, chippers, bucket trucks, and climbing gear, participate in hazard assessments and daily reports, and join a team committed to safety, integrity, and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Valid 444B Utility Arborist Certification required.
• Previous hands-on experience in utility vegetation management, electrical line clearance, hydro corridors, or tree work around energized electrical systems.
• Strong understanding of electrical hazards, minimum approach distances, utility safety procedures, job briefings, hazard assessments, and emergency procedures.
• Commitment to safety and compliance with provincial regulations and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform utility line clearance pruning and removal in accordance with provincial regulations and industry best practices.
• Work safely around energized electrical conductors while maintaining required clearances.
• Identify tree hazards and assess risks related to utility infrastructure.
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, bucket trucks, and climbing gear.
• Follow all safety procedures, job briefings, and emergency protocols.
• Communicate effectively with crew members, supervisors, and utility representatives.
• Complete required documentation and daily work reports.
• Maintain clean and organized work sites.
• Represent the company professionally when interacting with the public.

• Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined or challenging environments.
• Valid driver’s license required; AZ/DZ is an asset.
• Commitment to safety and compliance, including following provincial regulations and industry standards at all times.
