Qualifications

  • Forklift training and certification is an asset.
  • First Aid certification is an asset.
  • Willingness to complete additional training as required.
  • Ability to instruct or assist in training others, as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, adjust, maintain, and troubleshoot Pellet Mill packaging and associated equipment.
  • Keep bagging stations running as needed.
  • Collect product samples and perform in-process quality control testing.
  • Support loading and weighing of trucks for shipment; weekends as required.
  • Maintain pellet mill dies and coordinate die changes.
  • Collaborate with Shift Leader to optimize operations per shift.
  • Keep work areas clean and follow safety policies.
  • Perform other duties as directed by supervision.

Job description

Magris Talc Canada Inc. is seeking a Utility 2to join our Timmins operations. This position plays an important role in supporting safe and efficient mill operations, with primary responsibility for operating, adjusting, maintaining, and troubleshooting Pellet Mill 1 packaging and associated equipment. Working under the direction of the Shift Leader, company work procedures, and safety policies, the successful candidate will support production activities, quality testing, equipment operation, housekeeping, and general labor requirements throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate, adjust, maintain, and troubleshoot Pellet Mill packaging and associated equipment.
  • Keep bagging stations running as needed.
  • Properly collect required product samples and perform in-process quality control testing to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Support the checking, loading, weighing, and loading of trucks for shipment during weekdays and weekends as required.
  • Maintain pellet mill dies and communicate the need for additional die changes to the Shift Leader or Mill Supervisor.
  • Work closely with the Shift Leader to determine the best method of operation on a shift-by-shift basis.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas and follow good housekeeping practices.
  • Comply with applicable corporate programs, policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Production Supervisor or Plant Manager.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Preferably 1–2 years of experience in a mineral processing facility.
  • Basic Mill Common Core training program is considered an asset.
  • Forklift training and certification is considered an asset.
  • First Aid certification is considered an asset.
  • Willingness to complete additional training as required.
  • Ability to instruct or assist in the instruction and training of others, as needed.

  • Ability to work rotating shifts as required.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a production environment.
  • Ability to climb stairs, stand for extended periods, and lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Commitment to safe work practices, quality standards, and continuous improvement.
Working Conditions
This position is based at the Timmins operation and requires work in an industrial mill environment. The successful candidate must be comfortable working rotating shifts and performing physical duties associated with production, packaging, quality testing, housekeeping, and general operational support.
