Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 4–6 years of progressive US tax compliance experience in public accounting or professional services.
  • US CPA/EA designation preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of US federal income tax laws and international tax reporting.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing complex US individual tax returns and international tax forms.
  • Excellent tax research, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly.
  • Leadership experience mentoring or supervising junior staff.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review complex US individual tax returns (Forms 1040, 1040NR).
  • Prepare and review international information reporting forms (e.g., FBAR, 3520/3520-A, 5471, 8858, 8621, 8865).
  • Research and analyze complex US tax issues including residency, sourcing, foreign tax credits, and tax treaties.
  • Manage multiple tax engagements and meet deadlines.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior professionals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on tax strategies and client service.
  • Identify tax planning opportunities to improve compliance and reduce risk.
  • Stay current with US tax legislation and IRS regulations.
  • Build strong client relationships and drive proactive service.
  • Contribute to process improvements and workflow efficiencies.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced US Tax Manager to join a growing public accounting and advisory team specializing in cross border tax compliance and consulting. This role is ideal for a tax professional with expertise in US federal income tax, cross border taxation, international tax reporting, tax compliance, and client advisory services.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review complex US individual income tax returns, including Forms 1040 and 1040NR, while ensuring compliance with current federal tax regulations.
  • Prepare and review international information reporting forms, including FinCEN Form 114 (FBAR), Forms 3520, 3520-A, 5471, 8858, 8621, and 8865.
  • Research and analyze complex US tax issues involving residency determination, income sourcing, foreign tax credits, tax treaties, and international reporting requirements.
  • Manage multiple tax engagements simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining exceptional quality standards.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and ongoing coaching to junior tax professionals to support professional development and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with cross functional professionals to develop tax strategies and provide comprehensive client service.
  • Identify tax planning opportunities and recommend practical solutions that improve compliance and minimize tax risk.
  • Maintain current knowledge of changes in US tax legislation, IRS regulations, and international tax reporting requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication, technical expertise, and proactive service.
  • Contribute to process improvements, workflow optimization, and best practices that enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 to 6 years of progressive experience in US tax compliance within a public accounting or professional services environment.
  • US CPA, Enrolled Agent (EA), or active pursuit of one of these professional designations is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of US federal income tax laws, international tax reporting, cross border taxation, and foreign information reporting requirements.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing complex US individual tax returns and international tax forms.
  • Excellent tax research, analytical thinking, and problem solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly.
  • Proven leadership experience mentoring, coaching, or supervising junior accounting or tax professionals.
  • Proficiency with tax preparation software, Microsoft Office applications, and accounting technology platforms.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience serving high net worth individuals, privately held businesses, trusts, partnerships, or owner managed enterprises.
  • Knowledge of cross border tax planning and compliance involving both US and international tax matters.
  • Familiarity with foreign tax credits, tax treaty analysis, and international tax compliance strategies.
  • Experience improving tax processes, implementing workflow efficiencies, and supporting continuous process improvement initiatives.
