Job summary

NL Health Services – Western Zone is seeking a permanent full-time Urologist at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, NL.

Western Memorial Regional Hospital is a newly constructed, state-of-the-art acute care facility that opened in June 2024. The hospital serves as a 164-bed regional referral centre for Western Newfoundland, delivering a broad range of secondary and select tertiary services to a population of approximately 80,000 residents.

Qualifications

• MD degree from a recognized institution.
• Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification in Urology (or equivalent).
• Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador ( CPSNL ).
• Must satisfy credentialing requirements including a satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive urology services including inpatient and outpatient care.
• Perform urological surgical procedures.
• Deliver consultations to referring physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
• Participate in on-call coverage shared equitably among the urology team.
• Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary surgical team.
• Support person- and family-centered care; promote patient and worker safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks, and implementing improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Medical Degree (MD) from a recognized institution

REMUNERATION

Remuneration is Fee-For-Service in accordance with the Medical Care Plan (MCP) Fee Schedule.
