Position: Technical Writer

Location: Toronto, Canada

Position Summary: We seek a motivated, detail-oriented professional to join our Finance or Risk team as a Financial Models / Non-Models Documentation Technical Writer. The candidate will document, track, and support governance of financial and risk models and tools, ensuring adherence to standards, regulations (e.g., SR 11-7), and industry best practices. Collaboration with model developers, validators, risk officers, and finance professionals is essential.

Required Qualifications:

  • M.Tech, MBA, or master's degree from a top academic institution with strong academic performance.
  • At least 2 years of experience in banking or financial services, preferably in risk modeling, validation, or governance.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with ambiguity, adapting quickly to changes.
  • Excellent written communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in translating complex technical concepts into user-friendly documentation.
  • Strong interpersonal, relationship management, and presentation skills; comfortable interacting with senior executives.
  • Motivated with a proven track record of results under ambiguous conditions.
  • Judgment, discretion, and experience handling sensitive information.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, active listening, and clarity in consolidating information.
  • Experience with risk or fraud modeling in financial institutions is a plus.
  • Knowledge of modeling techniques like regression, classification, and machine learning algorithms is a plus.
  • Technical skills in SAS, Python, SQL, Tableau, and Power BI are advantageous.
