Role Summary
Under guidance from the head office creative team, lead the execution of all visual projects in store, delivering an inspiring, dynamic, and entertaining customer store experience. Partner with the display coordinator to deliver seasonal layouts and display schemes that set the highest standards for creative excellence. Collaborate with peers to support the communication and execution of seasonal layouts and display schemes across the district.
What You'll Be Doing
- Interpret company direction and current fashion trends to deliver creative and market-specific visual merchandising solutions that support sales generation.
- Seek outside inspiration and apply personal talent to develop unique perspectives for display concepts.
- Lead and collaborate with the store manager, display coordinator, and creative team to ensure innovative and timely project execution.
- Manage the delivery of seasonal display concepts through effective planning, detailed mapping, and timely execution, sharing responsibilities with the display coordinator.
- Communicate seasonal set-ups with effective photo layouts submitted quarterly, following guidance from district creative and display teams.
- Implement all visual merchandising initiatives, window schemes, and styling directions to the highest standards, adhering to company guidelines.
- Share merchandising concepts, initiatives, and trends with store teams via meetings, walkthroughs, and inspiration boards.
- Inspire team collaboration by sharing ideas, inspiration, and pertinent information from Head Office.
- Delegate projects effectively, allowing team members creative freedom to succeed.
- Coach team members on merchandise placement, standards, promotion execution, markdown placement, and business analysis.
- Facilitate efficient shipment processing to maximize sales.
- Maintain organized office spaces, signage storage, and fixture areas.
- Uphold mystery shop standards and achieve company-average results.
- Build community relationships reflecting urban culture.
What You'll Need
- Proven success in driving sales through visual presentation and business acumen.
- Understanding of Urban Outfitters' culture and its appeal to the local market.
- Effective communication skills at all levels and strong organizational abilities.
- Project and time management experience.
- Willingness to travel and spend time away from a home store.
- Retail management experience with creative interests or background in fashion, art, or music.
