• Create deployment topology diagrams for internal and external consumption.
• Participate in technical review sessions with the client as required.

Overview

Implementation of Telecom Services - Our team has built one of the largest private IP/MPLS based network in Ontario and are providing telecom services to large corporations, utilities, and provincial and municipal government entities. We are looking for an enthusiastic, bright individual to assist with the deployment and maintenance of these telecom services.

Your job duties may include

• Project management and Telecom Network Design
• Support the 2nd Level Support and Provisioning teams through consultation with external vendors to finalize technical deployment details for the access layer network
• Configure various monitoring parameters in the databases and reporting for Cisco and Juniper routers as well as Ciena Optical Networks to track utilization, availability, packet loss, latency.
• Review vendor proposals to ensure all client specifications have been met.
• Document exceptions and vendor deliverables into the various applications and tools.
• Create deployment topology diagrams for internal and external consumption.
• Take part in technical review sessions with the client as required.
• Maintain and update the operations config database, complete audits on the network inventory as required
• Generate regular status reports and other reports as required
• Creation of how to guides, device operating procedures and documenting 2nd Level Support and Provisioning processes as required
• Other duties as assigned

Job requirements

• 2nd or 3rd year Telecommunications/Electrical Engineering/Computer Science students
• General understanding of networking and telecom systems and services, such as routers and switches
• Solid understanding of the OSI communications model
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines
• Self-starter with exceptional communication skills
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite and MS Visio
