You will be a member of the above group, which is responsible for:

  • Electrical Arrangement and Basic Layout design and study

Your job duties may include:

  • Electrical Arrangement (EA) and Basic Layout (BL) of substation from 500 kV to 12kV
  • Associated studies of EA and BL design
  • Other station design, for example, lightning, lighting, grounding, AC/DC, Fire protection.


This job will provide you with the following professional development:

  • Station electrical arrangement/ basic layout design ability development
  • Substation project engineering management skill handson experience.
  • Power system safety practical knowledge
  • Getting hands on training on industrial standards, for example, IEC, IEEE, CSA
  • Getting hands on training on HydroOne transmission and distribution standards
  • Organization and planning skills
  • Prioritizing multiple activities
  • Improving communications skills in order to communicate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Gaining knowledge of technical writing for the preparation and checking of contract documents, Scopes of Work, presentations and technical reports and specifications
  • Getting Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with both internal and external customers
  • Improving independent work ability
  • Working knowledge and ability in using Microsoft applications, Hydro One computer applications, and other vendor provided programs and applications

Job Requirements:

  • Discipline: Electrical Engineering
  • Academic Level: Third/Second Year of Electrical Engineering Major
