Job Description for Universal Banker Position

Starting salary for Universal Banker position is $18.50 an hour and up, depending on experience.

Position Overview:

Under the supervision of an Assistant Manager or Community President, the Universal Banker assists customers through a dual role (Platform/60% Teller). This role emphasizes delivering excellent customer service, performing teller transactions, servicing existing customers, and offering suitable product and service solutions to customers and prospects. The Universal Banker must complete all required training, pass the Banker Certification within 6 months of hire or promotion, and demonstrate the ability to meet or exceed customer expectations.

Responsibilities:
  1. Process customer transactions accurately, efficiently, and with integrity.
  2. Identify and deepen customer relationships by profiling and recommending appropriate products and services.
  3. Make referrals to other banking lines of business to meet customer needs.
  4. Open, maintain, and close deposit accounts and services accurately.
  5. Address customer inquiries and resolve account issues via phone and in person.
  6. Conduct onboarding calls and follow-ups with customers.
  7. Engage in reactive sales and cross-selling activities, including calling campaign lists and following up on referrals.
  8. Maintain knowledge of WSB's systems, products, services, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  9. Stay informed about industry trends and external factors affecting the bank.
  10. Operate in compliance with internal policies and applicable regulations.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Experience:
  • 1-2 years of sales experience (required)
  • 2-4 years of customer service experience (required)
  • 2-4 years of sales and customer service in branch banking (preferred)
Certifications:

Banker Certification required within 6 months of hire or promotion.

Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • Associate's Degree in business or related field (preferred)
