To perform secretarial duties in Nursing Department and/or other assigned work as directed by DON, ADON, and VP. To perform a variety of clerical duties involved in maintaining Health Care and Assisted Living medical records in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Duties include:

  • Sort, file and collate a variety of medical records and information.
  • Maintain active medical records in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Maintain a variety of logs and schedules.
  • Reference check, personal reference check and license verification on all new Nursing Staff.
  • Keep track of all T.B. and Hepatitis records for all team members, in-training students, volunteers, etc.
  • Maintain and set up CPR, IV, and T.B. Certifications for Nursing Staff.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Previous clerical experience in medical setting preferred.
  • Verbal, numerical, and clerical skills along with the ability to comprehend written and verbal communications.
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of personalities in a pleasant and professional manner.
  • Ability to use computer, printer, copier, other basic office equipment, and medical charts and folders.
