Job summary

Desjardins in Montreal West is seeking an Underwriter for Life and Health Insurance. In this role, you will analyze risks and negotiate with reinsurers while helping to develop operational processes.

Underwriter – Life and Health Insurance

We are seeking an underwriter to help our members and clients remain protected during unexpected situations. We are updating tools and systems to optimize and simplify processes, making it easier to do business with Desjardins.

As an Underwriter, you will be responsible for:

• Analyze medical, personal and financial information to assess overall risk.
• Negotiate with reinsurers for non‑standard decisions to secure the best outcome.
• Communicate in writing or by phone with stakeholders.
• Help develop operational processes and modifications to the sector’s computer systems.
• Make decisions and justify them to members, clients and partners.
