AIG Underwriting teams help to find insurance solutions in areas including Financial Lines Property Casualty Specialty Lines Cyber Multinational Clients and High Net Worth individuals. How you will create an impact

  • Developing strong relationships with brokers and clients to grow the underwriters book of trade credit business
  • Underwriting new and renewal insurance trade credit submissions and negotiating policy terms and conditions.
  • Analyzing domestic and international corporate credits evaluating financial information and recommending or approving appropriate credit limits and terms.
  • Professionally maintaining and properly servicing an existing book of trade credit insurance business.
  • Marketing selling and presenting to brokers and insureds to increase submission flow.
  • Engaging in various underwriting and marketing projects to improve overall company results.
  • Meeting operating and audit guidelines and goals of senior management.
  • Supporting the broader underwriting team and senior underwriters.
  • Supporting management in the producing of reports and projects as required

The Underwriter manages key relationships and reviews transactions for key targeted Trade Credit brokers / markets / industries. This is an integral position that provides front facing external / internal marketing responsibilities as well as management of office underwriting duties and initiatives.

What youll need to succeed

  • Background in credit or financial analysis and strong commercial development skills
  • 1-3 years of experience in an underwriting capacity is preferred
  • Background in Insurance required
  • Proficiency in software packages Microsoft Office (Excel Outlook PowerPoint) S&P Cap IQ and Salesforce
  • Solid organizational and communication skills are essential
  • MBA or post graduate education is valued
  • Foreign language proficiency valued in addition to underwriting banking insurance or other credit analysis experience.
