Job summary

Trisura Guarantee Insurance Company in Downtown Toronto invites applications for an Underwriter / Senior Underwriter in our Professional Solutions team. The role combines underwriting and business development, evaluating, pricing, and underwriting risks while actively promoting products and strengthening broker relationships.

You will mentor junior underwriters, collaborate with claims, actuarial, product development, and marketing teams, and learn new product lines as they develop.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience underwriting specialty lines (E&O/Cyber/Technology preferred).
• Strong broker and market relationships with negotiation skills.
• Experience in business development and marketing within the insurance industry.

UNDERWRITER, PROFESSIONAL SOLUTIONS

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Underwriter / Senior Underwriter to join our Professional Solutions department. This role is a blend of underwriting and business development responsibilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating, pricing, and underwriting risks while also actively promoting our products, strengthening broker relationships, and driving growth in the Professional Solutions portfolio.

Accountabilities include:

• Assess, price, and underwrite new and renewal business within delegated authority.
• Analyze financial, legal, and operational information to evaluate risk profiles.
• Structure tailored coverage solutions that meet client and broker needs.
• Ensure underwriting practices comply with company standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with our broker partners and other stakeholders.
• Promote our products through meetings, presentations, and industry events.
• Identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to expand market presence.
• Represent the company as a subject matter expert within the marketplace.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior underwriters and team members.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with claims, actuarial, product development, and marketing teams.
• Learn new product lines and coverages as they are developed.

• Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant industry trends and their impact on products offered

Salary:

• The expected salary in this position is within the range of $70,000 - $90,000

This salary range reflects the expected base compensation for the role across Canada. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and scope of responsibilities. Trisura Group provides this range in good faith in accordance with applicable legislation.
