AXA XL provides Integrated Environmental Risk Management tailored solutions combining underwriting, risk engineering and specialized claims management. This position is responsible for the profitable production and underwriting of contractor’s pollution/professional liability coverage for contractors and environmental consultants and pollution liability for site specific risks.

Essential Responsibilities

1. Manages and underwrites a profitable book of renewal and new business per AXA XL Guidelines.
2. Cultivates key broker relationships.
3. Prices, quotes and binds business.
4. Reviews completed engineering surveys.
5. Advocates and cross-sells other AXA XL product lines to further drive the AXA XL business as a whole.
6. Participates in volunteer or special projects as needed.
7. Acts as a representative of the company and our agents by attending internal/external company functions, agent-sponsored and industry events.
8. Cross-sells across Middle Market and Large Commercial business unit to maximize deployment of AXA XL’s capital.
9. You will report to the Underwriting Manager, Environmental.

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

1. Moderate years of underwriting experience preferred.
2. Some experience in environmental consulting an asset.
3. Solution-oriented, marketing-focused and collaborative.
4. Ability to execute business strategies.
5. Ability to establish and maintain broker-client relationships.
6. Consistently pursues opportunities to differentiate AXA XL in the industry through our offerings and how we conduct business.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
8. Collaborative team player who provides creative solutions and ideas for resolution.
9. Knowledge of the Canadian insurance industry, combined with in-depth technical knowledge of CPL PLL product offerings and effective broker relationships.
10. Education: Bachelor's Degree required.
11. Travel time is estimated at 5%.
