The Opportunity

The Underwriter supports the underwriting team through the administration of key insurance documentation and processes, contributing to the timely and accurate handling of client policies. This position acts as a liaison between Underwriting, Sales, and Service teams by preparing policy documentation, ensuring accuracy in all documents, and facilitating policy document management.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Complete the preparation of insurance policy applications for personal lines and coordinate their return to the Sales and Service teams for client signatures, ensuring all documentation is accurate.
  2. Review and process varied terms letters, ensuring that all policy conditions and requirements are clearly documented and aligned with guidelines.
  3. Facilitate the issuance of any portfolio transfers.
  4. Monitor a shared “signatures” inbox and action incoming requests and documents that require signatures, escalating when necessary.
  5. Maintain and update policy binder lists on a regular basis.
  6. Utilize Pathway automation tools to support and streamline policy billing processes, ensuring timely communication and improved billing efficiency.
  7. Collaborate with the team and your leaders to resolve administrative gaps and maintain a high standard of policy documentation.
  8. Use various means of communication with both the team and your leaders to ensure that the highest quality of work and service is upheld.
  9. Engage in continuous learning and development to maintain current and relevant product and process knowledge.
  10. Adhere to all company health and safety policies.
  11. Perform all other related duties as assigned with a high level of integrity and professionalism.
