Your next challenge:

Reporting to the Underground Maintenance Superintendent, you will be part of the Underground Operations team. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and the environment.

  • Coordinate and minimize risks associated with the underground site infrastructure, electrical, and water management systems
  • Oversee the general maintenance of the underground infrastructure, including plumbing, waste management, and minor repairs and contracts
  • Provide day-to-day direction for operations and maintenance staff plus address issues revolving around unplanned events or direct concerns
  • Collaborate with the onsite Construction and Site Services teams with the installation of permanent and temporary infrastructures
  • Ensure proper upkeep of communal areas, including restroom servicing, snow removal, and minor civil projects, in coordination with onsite contractors
  • Collaborate and be the liaison with the underground operations team to support services
  • Conduct periodic inspections to identify areas requiring maintenance or improvement
  • Work with contractors for specialized services as necessary
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities conducted on-site

What you need to succeed

  • 2 years of experience in a supervisor role
  • Experience working with or in an underground environment will be considered an asset
  • The ability to manage day and night shift crews, provide line-up and direction for each
  • Civil construction experience would be considered an asset
  • Succeeding in supervisor common core will be a requirement for the position
  • Knowledge of the Environmental and Ontario Mining Act and Regulations will be a key asset
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to address unplanned events promptly
  • Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, & PowerPoint, as assets as well

Your work schedule:

  • Schedule: 7/7 or 14/14 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine.
  • Accommodation and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other traveling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
