Job summary

Komatsu Canada is seeking a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician to join our underground service team in Timmins. You will support our MTI, Montabert, Timberock and Joy Global equipment family, and work with our Komatsu underground mining machines to keep production moving safely and efficiently.

The role requires hands-on experience with mining equipment, the ability to travel and work overtime, and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• Experience with underground mining equipment.
• Strong diagnostic skills across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. unassisted.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repairs, and servicing on Komatsu underground mining equipment including LHDs, haul trucks, jumbos, bolters and drifters.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, diesel engine, hydraulic, battery electric and electrical systems.
• Replace or adjust components and parts to restore equipment performance.
• Work directly at customer sites, ensuring timely and effective service.
• Uphold and contribute to a strong safety-first culture in every task.
