Job summary

Vale Base Metals is seeking an Underground Materials and Training Coordinator for the Voisey's Bay mine in Labrador. The role focuses on planning material and coordinating training with underground operations, while ensuring safe, efficient execution and collaboration with supervisors, schedulers and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Post secondary education in a related field; combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Requires 5+ years of mining or closely related experience in heavy industry or mining environment.
• Strong computer skills including SAP; ability to schedule and manage tasks with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Ensure work schedules and material requisitions are designed to safely operate without impacting employees, the business, environment or regulators.
• Order material for execution against short- and long-range schedules while meeting deadlines.
• Build strong relationships with supervisors, schedulers, planners and mining team.
• Identify and escape critical issues threatening timely completion of work.
• Develop plans with work crews for temporary replacement and succession, and assist in training schedules.
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance and services to meet area targets and reduce risk.
