Job summary

Thyssen Mining is seeking experienced and safety-focused Jackleg Miners to join our underground operations. The successful candidate will perform conventional mining activities, including drilling, blasting support, ground support installation, and development mining while maintaining the highest standards of safety and productivity.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of underground mining experience.
• Demonstrated experience operating a jackleg drill in a production or development environment.
• Strong understanding of conventional mining methods.
• Experience installing ground support systems.
• Knowledge of underground mining safety practices and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate jackleg drills safely and efficiently in underground mining environments.
• Perform face drilling according to mine plans and specifications.
• Assist with blasting activities in accordance with site procedures and regulations.
• Scale loose ground and identify ground control hazards.
• Install ground support systems including screen, split sets, rebar, cable bolts, and other support as required.
• Conduct development and rehabilitation work in headings, drifts, ramps, and crosscuts.
• Handle explosives and blasting accessories where certified and authorized.
